Granite Tokenization and Chang Readiness

On August 15, Finest launched its tokenization platform on the Cardano mainnnet from the Rare Evo event. With its first real-world asset token, Finest has started offering tokenized granite blocks. Meanwhile, Cardano Node version 9.1.0 has been implemented on over 80% of nodes, clocking 77% of blocks minting at the time of writing.

In other updates, the Cardano development arm Input|Output Global released Hydra version 0.18.1 to offer overall scaling solutions. Cardano Codex has reached the Capital of India, New Delhi, this weekend with its insightful workshops. A Cardano DeFi project, Flac Finance, has rebranded to Feo. EMURGO has invited Cardano projects to participate in its latest survey. Let’s deep dive into these developments:

Chang hard fork is coming soon

• Node 9.1.0 implementation is likely to go live by the end of this month. The world's largest centralized exchange (CEX), Binance, has already started updating its nodes to version 9.1.0. On top of that, the majority of stake pool operators have already switched to Node 9.1.0. However, partner tools, CEXs, wallets, and other crypto service providers are expected to take a couple of weeks to get ready for the Chang hard fork.

The Voltaire Era: Intersect and On-Chain Governance

On-chain, community-led governance is the flagship item introduced to the network by the Chang hard fork, which will thrust us well and truly into the final, Voltaire, era of the Cardano roadmap.

This upgrade will, initially, allow a select group of community members (the Interim Constitutional Committee) to submit on-chain governance actions; the first of their kind! They will govern for an interim period between the implementation of the first Chang Upgrade and the on-chain ratification of the Cardano constitutions by ADA holders.

Intersect is a member-based organization that focuses on Cardano governance. It’s made up of firms and organizations that are in the Cardano ecosystem and want to have a say in how Cardano evolves. Intersect is also a member of the Interim Constitutional Committee.

Finest goes mainnet with its RWA tokenization platform

Finest Tokenization

On August 15, the fully-compliant real-world asset (RWA) tokenization project, Finest went live on Cardano mainnet. In collaboration with NMKR, Trivolve Tech, and LCX, the RWA platform has started offering tokenized granite tokens.

As per Finest, every GRNT1 Token represents 0.1 cubic meter of the first batch of tokenized granite on Cardano. By purchasing a GRNT1 Token, you're accepting Terms with the Mine where the Granite is located that allows them to sell the Granite for a profit and distribute the profits to you.
