Chang Readiness and Cardano Wallet Snap
Node v9.1.0 Upgrade and Partner Chains Toolkit
GM Frens,
What's Spotlight? Every week, we highlight the most interesting events happening around Cardano. We want to help you cut the clutter and find the alpha.
Cardano Node version 9.1.0 is now live on 45% of nodes. The Chang hard fork will be implemented once 70%-80% of nodes start generating 70% blocks on Node 9.1.0. Meanwhile, NuFi’s Cardano Wallet Snap will go live for all MetaMask users on August 12th. Metamask users can connect to any Cardano dApp using the NuFi solution.
In other updates, Input Output introduces the alpha v1 release of the partner chains toolkit, which enables blockchain builders to bootstrap security leveraging Cardano SPOs. EMURGO announces a strategic partnership with Trireme Trading, an industry-leading crypto ecosystem platform offering unparalleled market-making with Trireme Trading. Let’s deep dive into these developments:
Cardano’s Chang Hard Fork Update
Node 9.1.0: Half-way to achieve on-chain governance
Node 9.1.0 implementation is expected to take approximately 1-2 weeks. The community will be promptly informed upon the release of these components. In the meantime, developers and stakeholders can track the compatibility of various components through the official Cardano Compatibility Matrix (Know more).
Preprod and Mainnet Hard Forks:
SPO Readiness (70-80%): This metric will be gauged through on-chain block header analysis.
Exchange Readiness (70-80%): The Cardano team will directly gather data from exchanges to determine their preparedness.
dApp Readiness (70-80%): Intersect will be responsible for collecting data on dApp readiness.
The Chang hard fork is closer than ever. Cardano Spot is closely following the development. Read more here!
Cardano Wallet Snap to Go Live on Aug 12
NuFi brings Cardano Wallet Snap on Metamask
Nufi Wallet enables Cardano Wallet Snap on Metamask, a popular wallet with over 16 million users. Cardano support goes live for all MetaMask users on the 12th of August. Metamask users will be able to connect to any Cardano dApp that's using the NuFi solution.
Users can manually update to MetaMask v12 by clicking Extensions > Manage extensions > Toggle developer mode > click Update and connect on Staging VyFi.
Seamless Token Management with Metamask
This potential integration wouldn't just bring new users; it would also offer them a familiar way to manage Cardano tokens. Transactions would be confirmed within the Metamask interface, while tokens would be handled within a dedicated Cardano wallet widget within Metamask. Notably, this Cardano wallet within Metamask would be virtually created, eliminating the need for a separate setup or seed phrase. Read more here!
