Cardano Spotlight: WMT x Starlink, Marketing, & Voting on Cardano

What's Spotlight? Every week, we highlight the most interesting events happening around Cardano. We want to help you cut the noise and find the signal.
Tides are finally shifting for Cardano. In the last few weeks, we covered how we are close to solving major problems—fiat-backed stablecoin and CNT CEX listing. This will help us attract more users and liquidity.
This week, we focus on factors that can lead us to the next bull run. We discuss real-world uses like WMT and electoral voting, which can bring millions to the blockchain! However, we need to remember that with good products, we also need good marketing!
CEX Listings
World Mobile Token is one of the most exciting projects on Cardano, working on real-world impact. WMT focuses on connecting the unconnected by providing internet access to billions left out of the digital age.
WMT has been the buzz this week due to its relationship with Starlink. WMT works in a shared economy where operators provide an internet connection to users. On the backend, they work with various forms of infra like towers, aerostats, and Starlink.
Starlink, by Elon Musk, is one of the world's first satellite constellations used to deliver high-speed broadband internet. It is working on a mission similar to World Mobile's: to connect people without internet access. However, Starlink is expensive for an individual user to install and run. This is where WMT can shine with its shared economy model.
The Starlink work isn't new; it's been underway for over two years. However, it has recently caught the community's attention, and it's speculated that they have a deeper relationship. Following the news, the WMT token has nearly doubled in value.

Cardano marketing
We are at a point where 99.99% of the world’s population is NOT using Cardano. It’s early days for the chain, and it needs to onboard users! If you got onboarded via Charles’ whiteboard video, that’s also content and a piece of marketing.
In the community, marketing is usually considered a dirty word. It's been a point of contention for the past two weeks! However, we need marketing to change the world by onboarding people to crypto.
Some ways you, the community can help this marketing initiative:
Video Content: We have seen #CardanoGirls trending in the past few weeks. Video content is simple to understand and more likely to go viral.
Written Content: Written content is vital for new users trying to learn. We need more content that ranks on Google and brings in users. At Cardano Spot, we have focused on supporting creators and regularly host content competitions for creators. Start writing at Cardanospot.io.
Networking: It's essential to bring crypto natives into the fold. There has been a lot of hate between Cardano and other communities. Expanding the network and understanding others can rectify this.

Voting on Cardano
Blockchains are much more than a means of financial speculation. They are ledgers that record information or value. This makes Cardano stand out from other chains with its focus on non-financial usecases like identity & governance.
For example, the US elections have had various issues with transparency in the voting systems. This can be solved by enabling onchain voting from home by participants instead of home ballots. This could be easily tracked, and the votes could be quickly counted.
Frederik Gregaard, the CEO of Cardano Foundation, recently mentioned in a recent interview that US states have approached them to enable blockchain-based voting. This might not be possible during the current election cycle, but the experiment paves the way for future usecases.
He also mentions that they are working in European countries, including the UK. They would need certifications like SOC2 to pave the way for more enterprise usecases. Cardano has an advantage over other chains due to its sustainability, reliability, and security!
